Tom
has 35 years of electric industry
experience in operations,
engineering
and construction. He served
for 22 years in Management
of System Operation Control
Center at Florida Power &
Light and combines
managerial expertise in design,
construction and budgeting of
transmission,
substation and relay facilities,
with practical experience in
managed
restoration of transmission
system in South Florida after
Hurricane Andrew.
Tom designed and implemented
FPL' state control center, including
design
of software to identify reliability
issues in real time, and economic
evaluations
of generation dispatch purchased
energy and overhaul strategies
to optimize
system costs. He also developed
switching procedures to enhance
safety and
to facilitate removal of equipment
from service for field maintenance.
Tom
has held all positions in power
generation, negotiated buy/sell
contracts,
developed switching procedures
and provided evaluations to
optimize system
cost efficiency.
Mike
Anderson
Consultant
Mike has over 12 years service
with FPL management operations.
He is a
qualified Turbine Operator,
Control Center Operator and
Plant Watch
Engineer, and has managed employees
and all operations at Port
Everglades Power Plant generating
over 800 Megawatts of electricity.
Mike also served as Transmission
Coordinator/Dispatcher - Responsible
for reliability and safety of
switching high voltage up to
500kv, and
Interchange Specialist –
Responsible for Buying and Selling
of electricity
between other electric companies
throughout Florida, to optimize
fuel
efficiency and customer savings.
